Youth & Family Resource Center Selected as 2026–27 Blue Impact Grant Recipient

SHAWNEE, Okla. — Youth & Family Resource Center (YFRC) is proud to announce that we have been selected as a 2026–27 Blue Impact℠ grant recipient by Blue Cross and Blue Shield of Oklahoma (BCBSOK).

YFRC is one of just 23 community-based organizations across Oklahoma selected to receive funding through this year’s Blue Impact grant program. Together, these organizations will receive more than $1 million to support programs focused on improving access to care, addressing barriers to health and creating healthier communities across our state.

For YFRC, this recognition represents more than financial support. It is an investment in the children, youth and families we serve throughout Shawnee, Pottawatomie County, Lincoln County and surrounding rural communities.

Investing in Better Health Outcomes for Youth and Families

YFRC was selected within Blue Impact’s Optimal Health Outcomes focus area, which supports efforts to close gaps in care in areas including behavioral health and other critical health needs.

This focus closely aligns with the work YFRC does every day.

Our team is committed to helping children and families access the support they need before challenges become crises. Through outpatient services, school-based support, prevention programs, crisis intervention, mentoring, family services and other community-based resources, YFRC works to reduce barriers to care and help young people build safer, healthier futures.

For families in rural communities, accessing behavioral health and supportive services can be especially challenging. Transportation, provider shortages, financial barriers and limited local resources can all make it more difficult for children and families to receive help when they need it.

Support from partners like Blue Cross and Blue Shield of Oklahoma helps organizations like YFRC continue working to close those gaps and bring services closer to the people who need them.

Building Healthier Oklahoma Communities

Blue Impact grants are designed to support long-term, community-driven solutions with an emphasis on measurable impact and sustainability.

The 2026–27 grant recipients represent organizations working across five areas that influence health and well-being: Economic Opportunity and Stability, Nutrition, Neighborhood and Built Environment, Locally Defined Health Solutions and Optimal Health Outcomes.

Over the past decade, Blue Cross and Blue Shield of Oklahoma has invested more than $7.7 million in community organizations through its major grant programs.

YFRC is honored to be part of that continued investment in Oklahoma communities.

Stronger Families. Healthier Communities. Brighter Futures.

Since 1971, Youth & Family Resource Center has worked alongside families, schools, community organizations and local partners to provide services that strengthen families and help young people lead safe, healthy lives.

Being selected as a Blue Impact grant recipient reinforces the importance of that work and the power of organizations working together toward a common goal.

We are deeply grateful to Blue Cross and Blue Shield of Oklahoma for investing in YFRC and believing in the potential of the children and families we serve.

We are also grateful to our staff, board members, community partners, schools, volunteers, supporters and families who make this work possible every day.

This grant will help us continue moving our mission forward—expanding opportunity, improving access to support and helping create stronger, healthier communities for Oklahoma children and families.

Thank you, Blue Cross and Blue Shield of Oklahoma, for investing in our mission and in the future of the communities we call home.

Together, we can continue creating hope, strengthening families and building brighter futures for Oklahoma’s youth.
