Youth and Family Resource Center Receives $73,000 Grant from Avedis Foundation to Support Hope House

Youth and Family Resource Center (YFRC) is honored to announce that we have received a $73,000 grant from the Avedis Foundation to support Hope House Children’s Emergency Resource Center, a critical program serving children in crisis across central Oklahoma.

Hope House provides short-term, trauma-informed emergency care for children who are experiencing abuse, neglect, homelessness, or family instability. These funds will help ensure that children who cannot safely remain in their homes are met with stability, dignity, and compassion—rather than being placed in detention or other inappropriate settings.

The need for emergency child-centered care continues to grow in our community. Families are navigating increased stress, housing instability, and limited access to resources, placing children at greater risk during moments of crisis. Support from the Avedis Foundation allows Hope House to continue operating as a safe, nurturing environment where children can rest, receive care, and begin the process of stabilization while longer-term plans are developed with families and partner agencies.

“This investment directly supports our ability to respond when children need immediate safety,” said Kelsey Menifee, Executive Director of YFRC. “Hope House exists to ensure that children are treated with dignity during some of the most difficult moments of their lives. We are deeply grateful to the Avedis Foundation for believing in this work and in the children we serve.”

Funding from the Avedis Foundation will help cover essential operational costs at Hope House, ensuring consistent staffing, supplies, and a therapeutic environment that prioritizes emotional and physical well-being. This support strengthens YFRC’s broader mission to protect children, support families, and prevent deeper system involvement through early, compassionate intervention.

YFRC extends sincere appreciation to the Avedis Foundation for their partnership and commitment to improving outcomes for children and families in our community. Together, we are creating safer spaces and brighter futures for Oklahoma’s most vulnerable children
